Grins & Giggles: Hands on House

Yesterday we had a family day! Matt had off work, so we decided to go do something special with the kiddos. Our first stop was Pottery Works in Lancaster because we needed to pick up Kellyn's beautiful bird bank she painted a few weeks ago.
I fall more and more in love with that place each time I go!

After a little research we decided Hands On House was exactly the kind of place we were looking to spend our afternoon!

Basically, it's a big, fun place where kids can learn through playing. There are several exhibits including an assembly line, a post office, a pirate ship, a cave, and many more! I took way too many pictures to share, but here are just a few of my favorites:
face painting

fishing

tic-tac-toad

corn

eggs

pirate ship

grocery store

snowmen

wind

We ended up leaving with a year long membership because we loved it so much! Here's why:

~It's pretty close to our home!
~It was so easy to find! (This is very important! See Mommy-Daughter Night Out to hear about my incredible sense of direction...)
~It's affordable! Only $8.50/person. The family membership was only $89/year!
~It's child-friendly--I could easily take both kids there myself without feeling frazzled.
~It's large enough to spend 1.5 hours there without getting bored, but small enough to not lose your kids (or mind..)
~There's a playground and picnic area that we definitely plan on taking advantage of when it's warmer
~Your kids are learning while playing..what more could you ask? :)

So who wants to go with us sometime??
